Rachel Hills

I graduated from the University of Plymouth with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences. Working as a senior technician between the BRG and Dr Ben Newland in the school of pharmacy, I was investigating the therapeutic of a novel polymer in a rodent model of Parkinson's disease. I was then employed full-time by the BRG where I managed a fetal tissue bank, was responsible for the maintenance of several transgenic mouse lines and oversaw the general management of the lab.

I then took on a role as a senior research lead on a project collaborating with an industry partner. This project involved testing novel autologous cell therapy products and generating a data package for submission to the FDA. After completing my MPhil, I then began working as a research associate within the Moondance research lab. This work, which is in collaboration with the BRG, involves developing chimeric models of Alzheimer's disease.
