New Funding Award from UKRI MRC

2 Feb 2025

We have been awarded a grant from UKRI MRC, from the 2024 Gap Fund for Early-Stage Development of New Healthcare Interventions scheme.

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Mariah Lelos, Prof. Anne Rosser, and Dr. Oliver Bartley have been awarded a grant from UKRI MRC, from the 2024 Gap Fund for Early-Stage Development of New Healthcare Interventions scheme.

The project, “Identifying and validating biomarkers for a cell therapy product for Huntington's disease”, will progress our cell therapy product for Huntington’s disease closer to clinical trial. We will use sequencing techniques to find reliable biomarkers that (i) identify cell batches which will yield high-quality transplants, and (ii) determine important safety parameters for this product. Once we have developed this panel of biomarkers, we will then validate these using both in vitro and in vivo methodologies.

We would like to extend our gratitude to UKRI MRC for their support and look forward to sharing our progress.
