We headed off to do some neuroscience activities with year 7 students
Sophie, Olivia and Phoebe headed off to King Henry School VIII in Abergavenny to do some neuroscience activites with Year 7 students.Â

Students were shown how to change media on cells by using pipettes to take off jelly from couscous cells. They were shown an example of a clinical assessment we do, the stroop test, used to test their executive function. Shown brains under the microscope with grafted human cells. Finally, they were taught about which brain regions perform which function.Â

We got great questions from the students afterwards asking about how we became scientists, what our days look like and lots of questions about different brain diseases.Â

We're hoping to organise a group of sixth formers to come visit the lab and take part in a one day practical to learn more about stem cells, one of their A-level modules.Â
